Tangerine Literary is a multimedia publication for young writers and artists with something real to say. We're drawn to work that lingers-- writing that is curious, vulnerable, and alive. Our theme for this issue is intersections. Submissions for this issue close June 28th<div><br></div><div>🍊The theme for our first issue is Intersections. Because this issue will come out in June, this is our pride issue &lt;3, We ask that all work be by queer authors and artists and/or about queer themes for this issue. </div><div><br></div><div>☆What does Intersections mean?☆</div><div><br></div><div>🍊 Our interpretation of intersections for this issue is the places where identity, experience, and communities meet. We chose this theme because identity is never just one thing. Queerness intersects with culture, friendship, language, love, joy, and so so much more. All intersections are beautiful. Some are complicated. Some are still being discovered.</div><div><br></div><div>🍊 We invite you to share your story: How does queerness shape who you are? Where do your identities overlap? </div><div><br></div><div>🍊 We want this issue to feel open and honest. Pride is not only celebration: it is visibility, resistance, self-expression, and the freedom to fully exist. This issue is about honoring those layered experiences and creating space for them to be seen.</div><div><br></div><div>☆Once you have submitted, you will be contacted within two weeks to inform you of your submission status.☆</div>

Issue 1: Intersections

<div>🍊 Some people carry a lucky penny. Others wish on shooting stars, blow on dandelions, or glance at the clock hoping to catch 11:11. We all have little rituals, things we do to ask the universe for a bit of luck, to make our wishes come true, or just to feel a little braver.</div><div><br></div><div> 🍊 We interpret this theme as an exploration of luck, wishes, hope and superstition– the small, quiet ways we try to shape what's ahead. Maybe your poem begins with a wishbone split in two. Maybe your story follows someone who always wears the same outfit for important auditions. Perhaps your artwork captures the magic of birthday candles and four-leaf clovers. You might even have your own little ritual: a song you play while writing, a phrase you whisper to yourself, or an object you keep close because it reminds you of someone special. </div><div><br></div><div>🍊 We’d love for you to share your work about those quiet, magical moments that remind us why we have always looked for hope in the little things.</div>
