About the event
Join us for a day of writing during our monthly virtual retreat! You will have the opportunity to write alongside other writers in real time and learn from authors in the industry. This will be a time of encouragement and a chance to make real progress!
Details
Whether you’re just thinking about an idea, just starting a project or are deep into revisions, this is for you.
The retreat also includes an hour long craft chat and Q&A session with Elle Nash and Sophia Hembeck who will discuss how they balance both the business and creative sides of their writing life.
They will talk about how they support themselves through multiple income streams and how, using Substack, social media, Patreon, and other ways, writers can develop ways to support their art.
Wherever you are in your process, we welcome you with open arms. You don’t have to write alone. Your art matters. Time to deepen your love for your own work and set it into motion.

• 2 one-hour live writing sessions over Zoom
• Breaks in between sessions
• 1 hour-long author chat and open Q&A with Elle Nash and Sophia Hembeck
• Resources and author notes sent via email at the end of the retreat
• Generative writing prompts before each session to get you started

Elle Nash
Elle Nash is the author of Deliver Me (Unnamed Press/VERVE), Gag Reflex (Clash Books) and Animals Eat Each Other (Dzanc/404ink), and the short story collection Nudes (404ink). Upon publication of Animals Eat Each Other in the UK, Elle appeared at the Edinburgh International Book Festival to present the work of underrepresented voices with Amnesty International, and to speak about sex, death, and feminism in literature. Her work appears in Guernica, Adroit, BOMB Magazine, The Creative Independent, Hazlitt, Literary Hub, Cosmopolitan, New York Tyrant, and elsewhere. She runs the Goth Book Club, and currently lives in Glasgow.
Sophia Hembeck
Sophia Hembeck is a writer and visual artist based in Edinburgh. She has published two books of essays called: Things I Have Noticed, 2020 & Things I Have Loved, 2023 and currently working on her 3rd to conclude the Things-Trilogy. Her bestselling substack 'The Muse Letter' is published every month, where she wonders about the meanderings of life. She holds a M.A. in Playwriting (Szenisches Schreiben, UdK Berlin) and is teaching creative writing classes since 2020. She is represented by Zoe Martin from JE Literary Agency in Berlin.

Tamar Mekredijian
Tamar is the fiction editor of Write or Die Magazine. Her work appears at Literary Mama and Coffee and Crumbs. She is working on her first novel, which was long-listed for The Master's Review 2021 Novel Excerpt Contest. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
