finger paintings / my fate is you Ma, I see you in the mirror every day. The crinkling of your eyes like wrapping paper that we never tore open, only reused. The smile lines across my cheeks, like clothes on a clothesline in the sweltering heat. Everything I am is because of you.

an elegy to our love, and summer afternoonsthe worst thing you ever could’ve told me was the truth. it was warm and sunny; birds chirping, sun smiling, a perfect afternoon. our wiry frames were out of place, like storm clouds in a summer sky. like time-travelers on the titanic.

Nosebleeds In The Darki wanted to tell you i didn’t hate you. i wanted to tell you that it was the opposite, really, and that was the problem; that last night i was sorry for the blood on your face, and i wished it were mine. and that terrified me.
