Sarah Blakely began writing poetry at a young age as a way to cope with and heal from trauma. Since then, she has taken several creative writing classes at both the high school and university level. In school, she won multiple awards for her writing. Sarah's poetry has been featured in various small press anthologies as well as Issue #13 of The Timberline Review and the 2025 Central Avenue Poetry Prize. She has self-published two of her own books of trauma poetry.
