Four Oranges

Curled on the kitchen floorboards
My heart and guts collapse...

Departed

Snow whirls and twirls
Tunnel vision through the windshield
Farmhouses in stark yard lights
Like something off a movie screen
Black fields, black skies
The deep depths of dark eyes
Moonless, starless night
All the clouds tinted red-orange...
