Yellow Arrow Journal is a biannual publication of creative nonfiction, poetry, and cover art by writers/artists that identify as women.

Every writer has a story to tell and every story is worth telling.

Yellow Arrow Publishing supports and inspires writers and artists identifying as women through publication and access to the literary arts. Women’s voices have historically been underrepresented in literature, and we aim to elevate those voices and stories through our programs and publications.

It is our hope that providing more opportunities for women to participate in the literary arts will stimulate social change by expanding literary norms. For every writer who gets published, there are a hundred more with equally valuable stories to tell. We must share our voices so that our daughters, nieces, and little neighbor girls can read our stories and know that her individual lens is important. Expressing who we are and sharing our experience, strength, and hope, deepens the understanding of the human condition, allowing us all to better empathize with one another.

Yellow Arrow Journal is excited to announce submissions are now open for the fall 2026 (Vol. XI, No. 2) issue:<div><br></div><div>VIGIL</div><div>(noun)</div><div><br></div><div>: the act of keeping awake at times when sleep is customary</div><div><br></div><div>: an event or a period of time when a person or group stays in a place and quietly waits, prays, etc., especially at night</div><div><br></div><div>: a watch formerly kept on the night before a religious feast with prayer or other devotions</div><div><br></div><div>Submissions are open from August 1 to 31 and will be released in November. The issue will explore those moments in life, in the creative process or otherwise, when you let go of the outcome. Creative practices require a certain letting go, whether it be in the act of writing or in the moment when the writing is shared with others. We don’t know where our creativity will lead, and we don’t know what will become of it.</div>
