How to submit

Process

Please email your work to vociviamagazine@gmail.com following the guidelines on our FAQ page (vocivia.com/faq). Ensure at the very least your name is in the subject of the email as this is what we use to sort through our submissions. Any content warnings for the enclosed pieces should be mentioned within the body of the email.

Cover letters

We don't require a cover letter, but we would love a bio from you when you submit your work to us! Usually, a 3-5 sentence introduction written in the third person about yourself works. Include any social media you’d want us to feature in this little bio! We will shorten your bio when we put it into the issue if it takes up “too much” space (i.e. a whole column).

Eligibility

No specific eligibility requirements

Formatting

Unless otherwise specified, we prefer written works to be in a readable font and submitted as a PDF (.pdf) or a Word document (.doc/.docx)

Rights for published work

By submitting your work to us: - You grant us First Serial Rights: basically permission to post quotes of your work on our social media page (we will tag you when we post them, should you provide your social handle(s) to us!) and the right to publish your work on our site. - You grant us Archival Rights: the right to archive your work on our website, with credit given to you as the author. Upon publication, all rights revert back to the author under the condition that you will credit Vocivia Magazine as the original publisher should we be the first publishers of your work and your work be reprinted. If we are not the first publishers of your work, it is your responsibility to inform us and to ensure that you have full publishing rights before sending us your work. You take full responsibility for providing us with works that are legally yours. We will not accept pieces that are published in magazines or otherwise that do not allow republication, and it is your responsibility to make sure that this is not the case for your previously published works. In the event that the magazine you've previously published doesn't allow us to publish your work in our magazine, we will not be able to accept your work. If we find that your previously published work is barred from republication, we will not accept it. If you realize that you have submitted a prior work that you no longer have the rights to, inform us before publishing so we can retract it.

About the Magazine

Founded in 2021 | United States

Your voice matters. You must hear this phrase constantly, but this phrase embodies the entire idea behind our magazine. Vocivia Magazine aims to amplify the voices of those who cannot scream loud enough into the void we call the internet to create an immersive multimedia experience through new and innovative mediums. Founded in the pandemic’s shadow, each of our editors knows and recognizes the importance of making yourself heard online. However, the truth of the matter is that not many people have the ability to do such a thing, either because their opinions are vilified or because their platform isn’t big enough. Vocivia is based on the idea of freedom. Everyone should be able to live their lives as their own without fear. We aim to do our part in ensuring this future happens.
