Additional info
Multiple submissions are accepted, but only one submission per entry, please. We are not a “genre” magazine. We are looking for quality writing in any subject. We want interesting themes, characters, and unexpected resolutions. We aim to be the kind of journal that is difficult to define. We seek to surprise readers. We are open and eclectic. But to narrow it down somewhat, we love mysterious subjects, ambiguity, thematic focus, and emotional impact. We love surprises and content that shocks (not meaning anything pornographic).
About the Magazine
Founded in 2008 | United States
The Literary Hatchet was founded in 2008 by a group of writers and editors who were eager to develop a journal that would share new, emerging, and established authors. Since our inception, we have worked with authors and artists from every continent, except Antarctica. Our mission is simple: giving authors a platform to share their works and engage audiences. Each issue runs between 160 and 250 pages. We pay our authors a small honorarium for their works.
