How to submit

  • Processs

    Email

  • Cover letter

Do NOT include a cover letter. We will NOT read it. We do NOT take education or previous publications into consideration. Stories that do not follow blind guidelines will be disqualified and any submission fees will not be returned.

  • Eligibility

    No specific eligibility requirements

  • Formatting

Use double-spacing for prose. For poetry, use whatever spacing best represents your work. Use Times New Roman 12pt font. For poetry, other typefaces are acceptable if they serve the piece (but don’t get crazy).

  • Author's rights

The following terms will be used for all work selected by READ for publication. The author grants READ Magazine First International Serial Rights. As payment for publication in its electronic edition: READ retains the rights to include work in an anthology and to post work on its web site, newsletters, and social media in perpetuity after publication. The rights granted include the right to use the author’s name, image, and biography in connection with publication, advertising, and promotion of READ and the work. After publication, all rights (except those stated above) revert to the author. The author agrees that READ will receive suitable credit if this work is reprinted elsewhere including the author’s website. All work selected for publication is considered for inclusion in electronic and print anthologies. An author whose work is selected for an anthology will receive two print copies and a shareable electronic ebook version of the anthology as payment for inclusion.
