The Philly Chapbook Review (PCR) was founded in 2023 as an online literary journal for book reviews, author features, and publishing news focused on chapbooks. It has since expanded to include original poetry and fiction.

Philly Chapbook Review (PCR) is an online home for literary reviews of poetry and prose chapbooks forthcoming or published in recent years, as well as original poetry and fiction. The name comes from the fact that its publisher and managing editor, Aiden Hunt, is based in the Philadelphia, PA suburbs, but he’s always been a citizen of the internet due to disability. Good literary citizens and writers from anywhere are welcome.

Every contributor will be listed with an author page on our online masthead and we like to share good work widely throughout the internet (and we have great SEO skills). However, we’re also a free, ad-free publication, and we publish under Creative Commons license. Work can be republished freely with credit for noncommercial purposes. Please consider this before pitching.

Full-length Book/Chapbook Submissions

We’re looking for short fiction that has something meaningful to say. This can include stories that explore subjects important to you, reflect a distinct perspective or voice, or take an interesting or creative approach to storytelling. Stories should feel intentional and thoughtfully crafted.

We are open to a wide range of styles and genres within literary fiction, including speculative, flash fiction, experimental, and hybrid work. By “literary,” we mean fiction that shows strong attention to language, voice, and character, rather than relying primarily on plot or genre conventions.
