  We suggest you prepare a cover letter or an artist's statement, depending on if you are submitting writing or art respectively. The cover letter doesn't have to be flowery or extravagant, just something that will verify that it is your own submission. It also helps us get to know you a little better.   We only accept work from those under 20 years of age.

• Formatting

  Not specified.

• Author's rights

  For previously unpublished works, we ask for First North American Serial Rights; for previously published works, we ask for Second Serial Rights.

• Additional info

  We offer three main publication methods: (1) Online pub (Paper Crane Journal), published more or less quarterly; (2) Print anthology (The Paper Crane), published more or less annually, with specific calls; and (3) Guest columns, which we publish whenever it's requested. If you want to write a Guest Column about literally anything, just send us an email at papercranejournal@gmail.com There is no definitive word limit for any one submission. Please don't send in manuscripts for novels, chapbooks, or novellas.
