All creative media—from prose, flash, poetry, script, and comics, to film, music, visual art, and everything in-between. Cross-genre, experimental, and hybrid work are always welcome, as well as excerpts of longer pieces.

How to submit

  • Cover letter

    Cover letters should include the length of your pieces if written, the media of your pieces if art or hybrid, and the genre of your pieces if multiple. Bios should be third person and 70 words or less.

  • Eligibility

    No specific eligibility requirements

  • Formatting

    Email as an attached Word Document (.doc or .docx file) after filling out the form on our website. WORK SENT AS A .PDF or Google Doc WILL NOT BE READ NOR CONSIDERED.

  • Author's rights

    If your work is accepted, Mulberry Literary receives first American publication rights which, immediately upon publication, revert back to you. Feel free then to publish your piece elsewhere afterward so long as you state Mulberry Literary as its first appearance.

  • Additional info

    Although we accept work from everyone who wishes to submit, we particularly encourage work from LGBTQIA+, women-aligned people, and BIPoC voices. If you’re a creative writing undergraduate, graduate student, or member of creative writing faculty at a college/university, we’d love to hear from you. As ever, international submissions and submissions of translated work are welcome.
