Process
Please, for the love of God, proofread. A typo we can understand, but a complete and utter lack of the basic tenets of grammar is an affront to human decency. Make no mistake, we will reject you – quickly, and with extreme prejudice – if you don’t know how to work a set of quotation marks.

Rights for published work
And now, because the founding editor was an incredibly cynical man: Jersey Devil Press accepts no liability arising from the publication of an author’s work. Authors retain copyright on all works. We request one-time electronic rights and, possibly, print rights. We’ll let you know about that last part. Work published in an online issue will be archived indefinitely. Submission to Jersey Devil Press constitutes acceptance of these conditions.
Additional info
We’re also down with reprints, especially if the story has only appeared in print before. Just make sure to tell us it’s a reprint and where and when it previously appeared. We don’t accept stories that are currently available online elsewhere. If it’s already up on one site, it seems a bit greedy to us to have it on ours too.
About the Magazine
Founded in 2009 | United States
The Jersey Devil is a creature of legend, lurking in the shadows of the Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey, revealing itself only to wreak havoc on some small town, snack on some poor, unsuspecting chicken or goat, and, occasionally, if it’s feeling a little randy, to hit on mermaids down the Jersey shore. Jersey Devil Press, on the other hand, is a small independent publisher, born on the toll roads and raised in the diners of that great Garden State, revealing itself only to release a monthly online magazine of short fiction, publish the occasional novel or story collection, and, sometimes, if it’s feeling a little frisky, to write gratuitous run-on sentences and publicly decry the downfall of humanity that is Jersey Shore.
