frequency varies between 2 and 4 issues per year, depending on funding payment: poetry - $125 per poem payment: fiction and nonfiction - 20 cents per word, with a minimum of $350 and a maximum of $750 Island welcomes submissions from Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific and Australians living abroad if your work is published in our print version, and you not already a subscriber, your total payment will be less the cost of a 4-issue subscription We have also run the Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize since 1996 and in 2021 we launched the Island Nonfiction Prize
