Additional info

WE DO NOT PUBLISH: Fan fiction. Scenes/excerpts/synopses from novels. Thinly veiled stories that preach from a soapbox of any sort, whether political, religious, or otherwise. Excessive violence, profanity, or erotica in any form. *Our editors will start sending out acceptance and rejection emails during the first week of each month for the next month’s stories (e.g., if you submitted a story to be published in January, you should hear something the first week of December). Once all days in a given month have been acquired, submissions for that month will be closed. Havok pays via PayPal for each winning story published in an anthology, and anthology authors also receive one complimentary digital copy of the anthology. Payment varies depending on seasonal fundraisers, but as of 2021 we hope to maintain at least $50 per story.

About the Magazine

Founded in 2014 | United States

For 5 years, Havok Magazine, as part of the Splickety Publishing Group, brought subscribers a quarterly dose of speculative flash fiction. We published science fiction, fantasy, steampunk, cyberpunk, paranormal, supernatural, horror, techno-thriller, superhero, and more from best-selling and award winning authors to never-before-published writers. Splickety Publishing Group ceased to exist as of January 1, 2019. But its most successful imprint, Havok Magazine, lives on. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Havok has been reborn as Havok Publishing. It doesn’t look the same. It doesn’t operate the same. It doesn’t even deliver its award-winning flash fiction in the same way. But in its fresh form Havok Publishing is bringing new life and growth to not only us, but to the greater speculative fiction reading and writing community.
