  • Eligibility

We have a focus on early-career poets (meaning: poets who have not yet published a full-length book or have recently published a full-length book) but we accept work from established poets as well. We want to lead people to their next favorite poets. We also have a focus on publishing queer artists, being queer ourselves. You do not have to identify as queer to submit, but you do have to be cool about the possibility of being published in a queer-affiliated journal and treat that with respect.

  • Formatting

Send PDFs, use a standard font, other than that we'll leave the formatting up to you!

  • Author's rights

If we select your work for publication, Frozen Sea will retain worldwide First Serial Rights and worldwide First Electronic Rights. (Meaning: once your work is published in Frozen Sea, the copyright immediately reverts to you.) We also reserve the right to keep your work on our website in perpetuity, and to promote it on social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.

  • Additional info

In addition to publication on our website, we have a focus on publishing quality poetry across Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and other social media platforms—shorter poems work best. Think sonnet-y things.

We aspire to, and work towards, anti-imperialism, anti-capitalism, anti-fascism, anti-racism, anti-misogyny, anti-tr...
