Best WTF Is Genre Lit Mags of 2024

Dreamworldgirl Zine is an LA and NYC-based multimedia zine for all things girlhood. 

In April of 2024, DWG was launched with a foundation in both the literary and visual arts, DWG seeks to create a whimsical, creative and nostalgic space for women and other marginalized identities. 

We make biannual print and digital issues, one in the summer and one in the winter. We also run Dreamworldgirl Blog, an online platform that publishes mostly non-fiction work and photography.

Youth (13-21) and BIPOC creatives are also highly encouraged to apply.

Out of 3,489 votes, these lit mags came out on top in 2025 as the best lit mags for diverse voices.

Fantasy is Dreamworldgirl Zine’s Issue 05 theme! This summer we are looking to explore the intersection between fantasy and girlhood, the magic of childhood and how attainable all of our dreams felt as kids. Without the burdens of societal parameters, expectations and negative stereotypes, our imaginations were once free to flourish, and DWG is devoted to carving out a new space for play.

We encourage everyone submitting to share your biggest, wildest dreams and aspirations with us. Whether it be a reimagined queer fairytale, magical girl cosplay, true love’s kiss, or personal essay about building community and finding utopia, our team wants to know how you make your dreams come true.
