2026 Editor's Choice Awards - Call For Collections of poetry, flash fiction, or flash creative/literary nonfiction. 
We aim to award transparent publishing contracts with competitive royalties and varied advances to 4 exceptional collections per year and provide a dedicated launch team to craft a tailored, robust launch and marketing campaign. 
Award is publication with advance & royalties and 25 copies.

Editor's Choice Publishing Awards

April 10th, 2025 - November 10th, 2025

Eligible Manuscripts include previously unpublished novellas totaling 50-120 pages or around 10k-35k words. 

Award Packages— Each selected manuscript’s author will be awarded a transparent and competitive publishing contract with Shadow Dog Press Independent Publishing House that includes a cash advance (payable upon signing), royalties, 25 author copies, marketing & promotions, and a multi-page feature in The SDL Review. Up to 2 prize packages will be awarded, though every manuscript submitted is considered for alternate offers of publication. 

We are drawn to evocative, raw, poignant, and powerful works of substance and style.
