Z. Watts is an almost-young Kentucky-born-Portland-residing LGBTQ+ writer of psychological realism and science fiction. Watts’s writing focuses on themes of grief, freedom, and transformation, exploring morality through diverse and entertaining settings and characters. Appalachia's ever-present struggles with race, gender, sexuality, and wealth inequality have shaped Watts as a person and will always shape their writing. Watts is currently pursuing an MFA from Spalding University and is a member
