I got seriously, life-alteringly ill with long covid in summer 2023 and now I can write again, after about half a year of not being able to, it's probably going to shape a lot of my work in the immediate future. this is my first long covid poem

'post-viral illness is kicking my ass and now god and the devil are raging inside me'

It's my belief that every poem I write is a queer poem, even/especially the ones about big tesco or taco bell, but these ones are extra/explicitly queer. I also believe every poem is a love poem, but we might have to get into that another time x

Sort of a story, sort of a poem, sort of an analogy for queerness and belonging through a tale of an octopus-boy finding professional fulfilment and love, has turned out to be something of a fan favourite
