Born in Kuching, Malaysia, Daniel W.K. Lee (李華強) is a third-generation refugee, queer, Cantonese American poet. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing at The New School, and his debut collection of poetry, ANATOMY OF WANT, was published by Queer Mojo/Rebel Satori Press in 2019. Daniel recently won the 2025 Patty Friedman Writing Competition in poetry. He lives in New Orleans with his whippet Camden.
