Shirley Blackwood is a worn out therapist and an emerging poet from Northern California. She is currently unpublished, but did get a very positive response to a piece in a Brooklyn Poets Workshop class the other day. She identifies as a covert trans woman and has been alternating between performing arts, knife sales, esoteric poetry, and crisis work for about 15 years. Her work is focused on the intersection of identity, queerness, environment, exploitation, esoterica, trauma, and story-telling.
