Sophia Somerville is a Sydney-based writer and recipient of a 2026 Varuna Residential Fellowship. She explores themes of grief, motherhood, celebrity and the occult on her Substack, The Crucible. In 2023 she self-published Magic Words, a guided diary for creatives. Her short stories have been published in the Suburban Review and in 2014 she was Shortlisted for the Enderby Entertainment Screenwriting Scholarship. She is currently working on her first memoir.
