Sandy has been a stage manager for over 40 years, across Canada and internationally, working with dance, opera and theatre companies. She has always written on the side, with a play staged at the Muskoka Festival in the '80's and her debut novel, Circling Butterfly, published in 2020. She is currently the author of a SubStack (sandycumberland.substack.com) and is working on the second novel of her opera series.
