Ross Flournoy is a Memphis-born writer and composer in Ojai, California. His essay "FL-110" appeared in Hippocampus Magazine, and his fiction was longlisted for the 2026 Ploughshares Emerging Writers' Contest. He fronted The Broken West and Apex Manor (Merge Records), scored for film and TV, and is now writing and hosting .22 Caliber, a narrative podcast with Placement Theory, founded by Brian Reed (S-Town) and Robyn Semien (This American Life).
