Sun-up, Sundown 

This poem was written about a sunset at Waterfall Bay in Hong Kong. 

Waterfall Bay 7:11pm

It was a military cemetery that held few actual bodies
said my mother as we walked up the white marble stairs
towards the large sword-in-the cross that marked
an area right next to her old secondary school in Stanley


At the Military Cemetery

It was laundry day at Bridges Hall, 
and I was again stripping my bedding of 
the grey marble-patterned coverings and sheets 
which I’d picked out at Asda as a set
not too long ago.
