Rita Banerjee is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing, Director of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College, and author of Disobedient Futures, CREDO: An Anthology of Manifestos & Sourcebook for Creative Writing, and Echo in Four Beats. She received a Creation Grant for her new memoir on female cool and one chapter, “Birth of Cool” was a Notable Essay in the 2020 Best American Essays and another, “The Female Gaze,” was a Notable Essay in the 2023 Best American Essays.
