Mahmoud Elmardi

Mahmoud Elmardi (b. 1988) is a Sudanese visual artist and novelist whose work bridges fine arts and narrative storytelling. A 2018 graduate of Sudan University’s College of Fine Arts, he developed a style blending abstraction with symbolism to explore memory, identity, and displacement. He won the Katara Prize (2022) and the Arab Union for Culture Award (2024), and was selected for the Peru Biennial.
