Cila grew up on the rural Oregon Coast in the Reagan years. She has worked as a waitress, barista, UPS package handler, music journalist, editor and teacher, among other things. Currently, she teaches writing and literature to gifted and 2E learners. She is at work on a collection of essays about life-changing songs. Avocations include running, cat rescue and Suede gigs.
