Back in the mists of time, Cathryn Haynes read English at St Hilda’s College. She is past her five score and ten, so qualifies as a Hag (or Crone). As a horrid little girl, she adored ghost stories, especially the Fontana anthologies with the creepy Alan Lee covers. Roger Lancelyn Greene’s Puffin anthologies of myths & fables gave her a lifelong interest in folklore. She lives with two cats and a great many books.
