Casey has been obsessed with the written word since she could produce them with a tightly-grasped crayon. That obsession continues with her long-form journalism and burgeoning personal essay-ing. Her 2024 Oregon Humanities essay, “Nowhere to Hide,” was listed in The Best American Essays 2025 anthology under “Notable Essays & Literary Nonfiction.” She lives in Portland, OR, with her wife and an unreasonably large orange cat.
