Brendan's most recent publications include "The Salton Sea" with the Evergreen Review. His first (unpublished) novel was nominated for a Pushcart Press Editors’ Book Award by Michael Pietsch when he was publishing "Infinite Jest" by David Foster Wallace. His first (unpublished) YA novel was represented by the agent who sold "The Perks of Being a Wallflower". He retired after 31 years as a public school educator in Boyle Heights, L.A., where his students' writing was published yearly by 826LA.
