Brandy Machado

Brandy Machado is a queer writer and filmmaker in Portland, OR. She graduated from Harvard University in 2014 with a degree in Gender Studies. She primarily writes creative nonfiction and has been published in The Hitching Post. Her work centers around the topics of mental health, addiction, gender and sexuality, generational trauma, and resilience. She participated in the 2025 Tin House Autumn Workshop and just completed the Stanford Continuing Studies Memoir Certificate Program.
