Anne Lown writes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. She has worked as a house cleaner, chambermaid, waitress, and newspaper reporter before she earned a Master's degree in Public Health from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in psychiatric epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley. She has 50 professional publications documenting the long-term psychosocial consequences of interpersonal and medical trauma primarily in poor and under-served populations.
