Deborah Douglas Wilbrink was a ghostwriter, Senate aide, English teacher, TV editor and a cemetery manager before becoming an emerging story writer in 2025, She received the Can Serrat 2025 Spring Writer Residency in Spain to write stories about bad love and applied feminism. Deborah lives between Asheville and Barcelona, where she volunteers singer-songwriting for neighborhood associations.
