South Broadway Press is a publisher of poetry through books, print journals, and on our online journal.

Our mission is to provide a platform for ideas that provide alternatives to the harmful systems and ideologies that we historically have and continue to live among. We are interested in work that points us towards symbiosis with not just other humans, but with all beings in this moment, all beings past, and those future beings that will be impacted by the choices we collectively, and individually, make today. We focus our attention on love as a guiding force. Not a love that only reactively supports those who have been afflicted by oppression, but a love that is willing to disrupt, disobey, and proactively prevent and redirect the potential forthcoming affliction around us. A love that is resolute in its boundaries for itself and others. A love that takes the form of dissent, resistance, and in the words of John Lewis, a love that is willing to “get into good trouble”.

South Broadway Press is committed to soliciting and celebrating work from voices often excluded from traditional publishing, including writers of color, trans and gender expansive writers, and LGBTQ+ writers, and those living with disabilities.

South Broadway Press has an open call for poetry for our autumn edition.

The themes for our autumn edition are: autumn, water, cups (as in the tarot), the west and the salmon. Please feel free to interpret these themes as you will.

Autumn Online Journal - Poetry

South Broadway Press is seeking poetry submissions for our upcoming print anthology. There is no theme for this call – we want to showcase the best of South Broadway Press. Please send us your previously unpublished weird, gorgeous, and revolutionary poems. Send us the poems you are most proud of, the ones that need to be heard. 

Contributors receive one free copy of the anthology, and are able to purchase pre-order copies at a discounted rate. We are not able to pay contributors at this time.
