Yellow Medicine Review is a highly regarded international literary journal dedicated to Indigenous literature, art, and thought. It was founded in 2007 as part of a Difficult Dialogues Initiative funded by a grant from the Ford Foundation and is named after the Yellow Medicine River in Minnesota, a place where people of the Dakota tribe historically gathered healing plants
