We're here for the goth girls, the grieving gays, and the grey haired goddesses.

Velvet Grey was born out of a desire to share poetry, flash fiction, and short creative non-fiction written by and for girls that collect spiders, gays that dance in graveyards and goddesses whose shine reflects from the moonlight. Players of madness, siren singers, and night sky watchers are welcome here.

We want lovelorn stories of black lace and brooding hearts, poems about centipedes dedicated to the old gods, true stories about black lipstick and parking lot philosophy.

Look kids, it's not that I don't think you should have a place to publish or that I think you are unworthy, but as a former teacher getting into publishing dark and creepy and sexy stuff, I'd just prefer to keep my distance. I've delt with parents enough for one life time (and they suck) so I'd rather just avoid that problem all together.

We are very interested in the voices from LGBTQIA2s+, Nuerospicy, non-white, Physiospicy, communities. If you ever had a crush on any iteration of Davey Havoc or still wonder when Siouxsie Sioux is going to come cast a web in your house and capture you then you should submit to us. If you've seen El Topo or Holy Mountain you should submit to us. If you've had a religious experience listening to Yob or Witch Club Satan, we probably want to get to know you.
