We're new, volunteer-run magazine dedictated finding the best new poetry, art, scripts and fiction for our readers. Based in Madrid, Spain, we're particularly interested in Works in Progress.
At the moment we don't pay but we promise to shout about your work from the rooftops.
We accept work from writers whose first language is not English and love pieces based on Madrid, Spain or from writers who have some connection with Spain, but this is not essential.

All contributors must be subscribers to The Madrid Review. Participation is free of charge.

General call

The next edition of The Madrid Review will be out in October, when the night is encroaching on the day and we are heading into the darkest months of the year. It is both something we experience physically, in real terms – the cold, the dark, the damp leaves drifting down on our heads – but it is also something that feels incorporeal, otherworldly and ripe with metaphor. So, the theme for the October edition is “Into the night”. Interpret it as you will!
