Bio:
"Molly and I met in December of 2017, two hesitantly excited high school seniors from mirroring coastal towns, raised three thousand apart to love the same moon and the same Carly Simon songs. We fostered our friendship through chat apps and late night FaceTimes, planning out our matching dorm decor down to the step stools. Four years later we found ourselves college graduates who had loved and lost in all corners of the world, returned to our childhood bedrooms. We founded The Yellow Light in December of 2022 during a visit of mine to Seattle, a burst of creative desperation and an overwhelming feeling of loss both of each other and of the editorial work we had loved so much. We knew that we couldn’t be alone, separated by life and clawing our way back to ourselves while we worked part-time jobs and watched life from the sidelines. Since that night, we’ve convened in Paris, Aix en Provence, New York, Boston, and London. We’ve laughed together and cried together in front of the world’s greatest art, had cobblestone streets of once imagined lands turn into pathways home, and blown out birthday candles in time zones very different from the one we were born in. Somehow along the way, the constant of Yellow Light served as a buffer. I’ve always loved Hemingway’s “A Moveable Feast” - our semi-annual conventions have become a personal moveable feast these past three years post-grad. No matter where we end up, I know we’ll find each other again - a text from a tarmac signaling a safe landing to the one who waits at pickup, hazards on."
