Keeping with its original vision, the tiny seeks to publish work from a diverse range of emerging and established voices.

The tiny is a biannual online poetry journal dedicated to showcasing a diverse range of emerging and established voices. Founded in 2005 by editors Gabriella Torres and Gina Myers, the journal initially published an annual print edition until 2008. After a hiatus, it relaunched in September 2017 as a biannual online publication, continuing under the editorial leadership of Torres and Myers. In 2020, the journal transitioned to an annual publication schedule, with submissions opening in April and new issues released in September or October. That same year, Ebs Sanders joined as an editor, collaborating with Gina Myers to co-edit the issues. The tiny is committed to solidarity with the people of Palestine and adheres to the guidelines of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI), as called for by the BDS National Committee. The journal's mission is to publish work from a diverse range of emerging and established voices, seeking poems that are unafraid to take risks, challenge systems of power, and evoke strong emotions. They appreciate works that are surprising, original, and creative, favoring pieces that artfully demonstrate what Hemingway called the "iceberg theory," where the beauty of stories lies in what’s left unsaid. The tiny accepts online submissions and is open to writers of all ages, with no submission fee. They also interview new and upcoming writers on their Featured Writer blog, focusing on a particular work and discussing the writing process, stylistic choices, and the writer’s history.
