A poetry podcast and small press publisher.

The Poet Heroic is a podcast and small-press poetry publishing house
founded and hosted by the poet Timothy Arliss OBrien.

We also created a magical metaphysical imprint,
The Healers Coven, for all of your mystical needs.
(Because even magic is poetry.)

We celebrate all writers and uphold the belief that anyone can be a poet.

We believe poetry can be words, photography collections, tarot decks, paintings, podcasts, secret envelopes, books hiding within books, crystal grids, drag queens, classical music, cookbooks and recipes, and quiet affirmations whispered into the dark.
Submissions are always open and previously published pieces are welcome.

Poetry Magazines That Nominate for the Pushcart Prize

the Poet Heroic

This magazine fulfills a dream of creating a place that can collect essays, poems, photography, letters, scientific research, tales of folklore, marine scifi, film reviews, hopes of conservation, book reviews, creatures from the deep, music playlists, seashell collections, musings on lighthouses, goals of ecology, dreams of restoration, visions of aquariums, and songs of the sirens.

We want submissions that are creative, out-of-the-box, mythic, haunting, soothing (as only the sea can be), salty, windy, and wet.
We want to create an experience that can stoke the yearning for the sea,
and immerse the reader in our obsession with the aquatic biomes.

Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to pay our contributors.
To provide an exceptional experience to all of our audience
we have chosen not to monetize or include ads in our podcast episodes or on our website.
Publication in the magazine will include 2 free copies of the magazine and a wholesale discount on more copies.

Seashore & Folklore Magazine

Our rolling Poem of The Week contest showcases a range of new and experienced writers along with freshly published works and pieces that have existed in some phenomenal publications to celebrate the heroic art of poetry.

Each poem is photographed and audio-recorded by one of the amazing readers on our team.

The Poems are also featured on social media, and we prefer shorter pieces that can fit on one page and be featured in a single image.
