Socialist Forum is an open and wide-ranging venue for thoughtful discussion and debate among DSA members.

We provide space for political reflection that is theoretical, strategic, and long-term in order to develop a theory and practice of democratic socialism appropriate for the twenty-first century.

Contributions will represent as wide a range of views in DSA as possible. The editorial board of Socialist Forum is composed of members with various points of view on important political questions, and it does not adhere to a single theoretical or strategic perspective. As a result, the essays published in the journal reflect the views of the specific contributors, and are not intended to establish a DSA “party line” on any given issue.

Socialist Forum

We invite discussion of a wide range of political actors across the spectrum of socialist action and thought. How do we navigate a relationship with bourgeois political parties like the Democratic Party or with mainstream labor unions and labor parties more broadly? What lessons can we take from the wide array of self-proclaimed socialist parties and countries across the world or from the various social democratic political actors such as Sweden? And what does a socialist U.S. look like in relation to the demands of revolutionary movements such as the Republic of New Afrika or the American Indigenous Movement (AIM)?<div><br></div><div>To join this conversation, we invite pitches that reflect on these topics and the insights they offer for DSA and its members as we pursue the difficult project of building a socialist future out of the present capitalist horrors. </div>
