pulse is an independent mixed media magazine for the raw, the experimental, and the deeply intentional. we curate dark aesthetics, striking contrasts, and atmospheric writing into a cohesive, highly stylized digital layout.

pulse is an independent digital subculture and arts magazine dedicated to capturing the raw, the unfiltered, and the cohesive. we are currently building issue 01, and we’re looking for work that moves on its own frequency — pieces that carry a distinct, sharp edge without trying too hard to prove it.

we accept:
– literature (poetry, prose, creative nonfiction, flash fiction, micro-memoirs)
– visual art (illustrations, paintings, photography, 3-d art portfolios)
– video art (videography, animation)
– music (original songs, instrumental covers)
– original choreography
– everything in between

our philosophy is rooted in editorial intentionality; we don’t just stack pages, we construct a specific visual and atmospheric layout where every piece of text and media interacts with the next.

what we want: dark aesthetics, striking contrasts, melancholic or atmospheric poetry, gritty textures, and art that feels deeply intentional.

what we don’t want: over-the-top cliches, unearned shock value, or loud, chaotic noise that disrupts the rhythm of the layout.

whether you experiment in the arts or are a solo creator polishing a hidden gem, we want to see your most cohesive work. don't be afraid to show your teeth.
