POTTAGE is dedicated to misfits and scraps. Rather than setting predetermined themes, POTTAGE designs each issue around accepted submissions, finding the patterns between them.

Pottage (/pɒˈ-, pəˈ-/) is an ancient type of stew, made from whatever ingredients the chef had on hand.

POTTAGE is a literary magazine made from whatever unpublished work our contributors had on hand. Rather than assigning themes, we design each issue around those found between submissions.

POTTAGE values inclusivity, intersectionality, and interdisciplinary work. While preference will be shown to literary works from emerging authors, any form of art from any artist may be submitted. Emerging writers and artists are encouraged to submit; the only thing we do not accept is AI-generated or assisted work.

Throw something in the pot, and let’s see what we can make.
