A multimedia zine for lesbians, by lesbians.

We are a digital multimedia tri-annual zine dedicated to bolstering the creative voices of sapphics, on a global level. PLAYBUTCH aims to provide a community for lesbians that surpasses boundaries and celebrates queer creativity!
We are currently looking for submissions for our third issue, "ON THE MIND"!

We only publish work submitted by sapphic creators!

PLAYBUTCH

Our second issue's theme is "ON THE ROAD"! We invite you to interpret this in any way that it resonates with you, from being a form of escape to a quiet regret of not running away with someone. We would love to take a backseat to your creative process and be the vehicle for you being able to get your work published in a zine!

Submitters must be SAPPHIC in some form due to our focus on lesbians and lesbianism

ISSUE #2 ON THE ROAD

We are extremely delighted to announce From The Fragments, a joint competition and project of 12 zines, each of us literature and poetry lovers, in honor of Sappho, (one of) the first poet of female desire!

a chorus of interpretations,
a collective act of reconstruction.

Every submission must anchor itself to one numbered fragment or poem from the Sappho Archive, a compilation of works by Sappho curated by the team. from there, the possibilities expand—poetry, prose, art, multimedia, and everything that emerges in the spaces between.

More information in the post and THE SAPPHO ARCHIVE. Looking forward to everyone’s submissions.

P.S. Will hopefully sort this issue but for now, if you are submitting to From the Fragments, the link is the one labelled GUIDELINES, not SUBMIT which is the submission link for our 2nd issue 'ON THE ROAD'.

From the Fragments

For the third issue of PLAYBUTCH (and the last issue of volume one), we would love to know what makes you, you! We want to know what makes our fellow dykes tick. Do you have a really niche obsession that you love to tell people you meet about? Write us an essay! Do you have a muse that you keep coming to over & over again? Show us what they inspire you to make! Do you have something, or someone, who can put your mind at rest? Write a poem about it and then submit it to us!

This is the most wide-ranging theme we have had for an issue yet, and we would really love for people to take advantage of it! We would love to see works by dykes that celebrate who they are, and celebrate the things that resonate with them! Help us finish off Volume 1 with a bang.

All submitters must be sapphic in some form, as we are a publication that focuses on lesbianism and uplifting lesbian creatives!
