The goal of orangepeel is to give readers something they’ll remember. We all have those sentences we remember when we’re falling asleep, those brushstrokes we can still see in our heads years after viewing them. That’s what the pages of orangepeel are here for.

orangepeel is a totally digital magazine inspired by the aesthetics of print literary magazines, especially those coming out of universities.

Our staff believes that many of the most memorable pieces are often prompted by the writer or artist’s own exploration of their memories. You’ll find that much of our work deals with nostalgia, mourning, and reflection on past events, though that certainly isn’t a requirement to be featured.

orangepeel is also dedicated to creating a global narrative and showing the ways that many different people can relate to one another through art and writing.

We have featured work from every continent aside from Antarctica and value sharing BIPOC and LGBTQ+ perspectives.

Magazines open to contemporary, accessible poetry styles—the kind that were "previously published" as a social media post.
