We are not your typical literary magazine. And if you found us, there is nothing typical about you either.

Started out as a street zine over 20 years ago. In 2010, I brought oddball magazine online. In 2012, I teamed up with Boston poet Chad Parenteau and he became my Associate Editor. 

Since then, we have been one of the most active online lit magazines in the poetry scene.
We have grown a diverse, killer community of poets, artists, and some of the best contributors I could ever ask for. We are an eclectic bunch. 

We have weekly poetry, art, comic strips, book reviews, music reviews, and an open place for originality. We provide a canvas. Our community paints it.

Here is your shot to tell your story. What are your successes? What are your passions? What are your failures? What have you done, what is your reason for living? What do you want to tell the world? How can you motivate, and inspire us?  If you are sending a long work, (over 1500 words) please send along a few photos, or artworks that best compliment your story. Original Art

Send us your short films that reflect oddball's mission of advocacy through art. Make us laugh, make us cry, make us think. Some things we would love to see in motion:Stories of social issues, environmental activism, representation of marginalized communities, (BIPOC, indigenous, LGBTQ ) mad advocacy, and psychiatric survivor communities.Show us the world how you see it through your camera lens and what matters to you. Genres can be Documentary, Narrative, Avant-Garde, Experimental, Musical, Animated, or anything else that you feel. Street Art

It's October and time for our favorite call for submissions!

2020 is the year Zombies became boring. In the wake of COVID-19, we no longer wonder what would happen during an undead apocalypse. We can now envision legions of Americans lining up to be eaten while crying "Fake news" at the site of their own entrails. And that's far more horrifying.

The old horror tropes provide fun escapism every Halloween, but not here. This Our Halloween poems need more real, infectious bite.

The horror of the pandemic is still real. The rise of fascism in our country is real (and growing). 

What are we looking for? In two words word: Real horror.

There have been many pandemic and Trump related works published here and elsewhere under the banner of hope. From October 27 to October 31, we want work that focuses on the constant horror in American and global life. We want work that names the atrocities and brings them into light. We're not ruling out satire or horror, and maybe the monster dies at the end, but we want to see your own radical takes. 
 
 Visual art is always appreciated and considered.

Submit either video or audio of your original work.  Be sure to submit an accompanying cover letter with your poems.  If you submit audio-only, also submit a bio, and the lyrics of the work if it has lyrics. If sending video or film please make sure it's appropriate for all audiences. We prefer  SoundCloud, Vimeo, or youtube platforms, but will accept MOV. MP4.
