The Mugunghwa is a student-run literary magazine at Saint Paul Preparatory Seoul (SPPS) in Seoul, South Korea. Like its name, The Mugunghwa aims to provide a medium through which literary, visual, and all forms of creative works can live and thrive timelessly.

We publish biannually with submissions from around the world. Every single one of our issues revolve around a different theme, all of which are derived from Korea’s historic events or figures.

We are very excited to announce that we are open for submissions for our second issue, with the theme Jeong (정/情).

Jeong (정/情) is the flower that blooms in the warmth of a company, that be a friend, a family, a lover, a pet, or even an object. You cannot see Jeong (정/情) but when it is there you will feel it. Jeong (정/情) only ever grows more beautiful in time, until the end of time. In Jeong (정/情) we become immortal. Jeong (정/情) is connection, Jeong (정/情) is love, and Jeong (정/情) is literally the friends we made along the way. Jeong (정/情) is us.

This is for those in middle school and high school writers and artists.
