A youth-led film magazine featuring global perspectives on cinema. Founded by a high-school film enthusiast in Tokyo, Japan. We publish essays, reviews, and creative works that explore how movies shape us.

The Global Film Collective is an international, youth-led magazine dedicated to exploring the ways cinema connects us across borders. We publish essays, reviews, photography, and other types of visual works that investigate how film shapes our identities.

Our ethos is rooted in accessibility and inclusivity: we believe film criticism and creative expression shouldn’t be limited to academic or professional circles. Whether you’re a first-time writer or a seasoned cinephile, this is a space to share how movies resonate with you and your community.

Each issue revolves around a singular theme. Our debut issue, In the Mood for Film, explores cinema through the lens of childhood imagination and wonder. By featuring works of artists across the globe, we hope to create a living archive of diverse experiences with cinema.

Our mission is to spotlight creatives, especially young artists, on an international stage.
